Lousy Customer Service From FEDEX and Incompetent Ecuadorian Customs Officials

FEDEX called us on Wednesday,September 11 and told us our package would clear either Thursday or Friday and we would have to pay import tax then wait for delivery.  This is Saturday and nobody called or updated the tracking link.  The package has been in this country since August 20.  We have had enough,  we are going to wait it out through Monday to see if we hear from anybody,  if not we leave for Peru Tuesday morning with or without the package.   
The beach has been relaxing but we are long past being ready to move on.  At least it is getting closer to spring in the southern hemisphere so hopefully it won't be as cold in the higher elevations of the Andes south of here.  Look for a new post by the end of next week.

  1. Bummer! The ability of the customs officials in Ecuador was probably the worst I experienced in South America. Hope you have better experiences in Peru! Peru is beautiful once you get past Lima. Just beware the corrupt police. They took my license because I passed in a double yellow then suggested I give them $40.00 and they would give it back, which of course I did. But other than this I had no problems. Keep having fun! Enjoy the updates!
